What stories do you need to tell?

Lately, I have been plugging away to finish various albums so that I feel like something is done in my scrapbooking. One of those is our trip to Nebraska back in July 2009. We went to see hubby’s mom for her birthday and spent a lot of time at the Henry Doorly Zoo {hubby’s fav}. I have so many photos from the zoo and took them and sorted them into like categories so I would know what layouts I needed to create. I am so close to being finished and thought I would share a few with you.

The little penguins truly cracked me up. They were all standing on the ramp waiting to be fed as the day went on. They reminded me of the seagulls in Finding Nemo {if you need to see it, click here for a video}

There were a ton of birds at various points in the zoo and they all proved to me they were beautiful in their own way and I wanted to embrace that with a simplified layout. I used the a paper from the new My Minds Eye Nostalgia collection to enhance my background.

This layout came about as part of my Inspired by Shimelle Challenge. I used small boxes of paper to create a grid pattern with the photos and love how it came out. Little pops of color throughout really make the pictures stand out.

Another layout fro the Inspired by Shimelle Challenge. I used a larger piece of patterned paper to help show off the flamingos. I thought the gray pulled from the roofing and then added red bits from my scrap pile to make the color of the flamingos pop.

I would love if you would join us in the Inspired by Shimelle Challenge. We are having a grand time on the message board. All entries linked up on my blog by June 30th, will be entered in the final prize of a $25 2Peas Gift Card for the person with the most projects created.
